ntl 250 help

hi guys need a bit of advice on this
i am trying to do my ntl 250 , all connected, up and fine

however whenever i boot up the modem, i see this on my hyperterminal screen
any help please, i am bit lost, dont know where i am going wrong

that data dont look right your getting ..check your cable make sure rx and tx are the right way round you should be able to press ..P.. at the start of the transfer

i hav used the max circuit before to do one 255 and did not see any problems

what are the chances that my max 232 has packed in or do u think its the connection/setting problems

its not the max m8, its like jay said check ur the wires r making good contact with the pins on the modem and check ur com port setting in hyperterminal make sure ur bits per second is set correctly @ 115200

will give it a shot again on thursday now,
do all the circuit again,
cuz it was a home made one.. , all wires hanging around

that happened to me SUNHILL, it was max232, also you wont be able to alter anything i dont thing as your firmware is the one from nt:L, if you have the 250 you need the infinite firmware

i had a simular problem, it was the compacitor(i fink) the big things that come out lol... it wasnt soldered on properly

does it give you the option to press 1, 2 or p before it scrolls that stuff, if it doesn't then you have a duff modem mate. i had one given to me the other day without the option cos it had taken a mini-hit from VM (I think) and short of removing the TSOP you can't even flash the original firmware back onto it.

i had that problem also, its deffently lose wires! make sure they are connected correct and try again! thats how i sorted it!

Agreed

Normally lose/bad connection. Try unplugging cleaning, wiggling ect.
