Noob using IFA (Please Advise)

I was trying to help my dad fix his dbox2, I managed to login to the dbox and transferred the latest image to the tmp folder. I then proceeded to flash the box, after I restarted the box it wouldn't boot past the 'loading kernel' on the lcd screen. I then used IFA to install the flash onto the box, once it was completed it said 'backup fertig' (assuming fertig was german for complete), so I rebooted the box and I still have the crazy frog logo in the backround and its still stuck on loading kernel on the LCD. My other problem is any english version of IFA will not load up on my PC, but the german version works OK. Is there something I missed whilst using IFA? Is there a site where I can try each english version of IFA on my machine?

are u using the right img for ur box? 2x or 1x chip?

I belive I am, I looked inside the box and there was definitely two intel chips, and I instructed IFA to use sportster_12_11_05_2x.img. Does sporster change the crazy frog screen to something else, I think the box was originally flashed with a zorge image.
