no power to hdd

Hi all,

just got an issue that I need to expert help on please?

my dad has a solo2 (clone) running vix image and wanted to be able to record on it so I purchased a brand new 2.5 hdd to fit.

I have fitted this but cannot get any power to the HDD. the HDD and leads are not faulty as I have tested them so i'm thinking it's the power socket on the solo2 mobo.

i'm on my way down to test this with my multimeter.

my query is this:

if it is the power socket on the mobo is there another option for powering the hdd?

You might need to caddy it and use it as an ext hdd powering from the usb of the box
