OS mkv files and audio on windows 10

Hi

Not all but some films with mkv files extension play but no sound on windows 10 laptop but do have sound when played on TV does anyone have a fix for this I have tried klite codec pack but still get same problem.

I had a similar issue with the built in player in windows 10 even with the codec pack, I use VLC player instead. No idea why though

I like Media Player Classic as well as VLC

I have installed VLC for now, but what I'm after is a codec so I can use built in film and TV player which is installed within windows 10

I use the latest divx codec and vlc never have any problems, but I'm using windows 7 not sure about windows 10, worth a try as it is free.

If you have kodi installed on your pc you could try playing through that.

Mkv with dts audio not supported on windows 10.

This player will do the job as well.

I been using Potplayer for years, it has played everything I have tried so far with windows 8 or windows 10. No codec packs needed. it even plays h.265 HEVC with no problems.
