Missing boot mgr

Drat vista won't boot due to this error tried fix boot in sys rec in command prompt any ideas ladies and gentlemen I dont want to do another format.................:grayno:

try booting from the windows vista disc and select the Repair Your Computer option

or use hirens boot cd and fix the boot manager

Well this is the pc with boot problems as you can see its booted it appears to be a cable issue power or ide ribbon gave them a shake and a rattle and the system started to roll just shows you it is sometimes the simplest thing

Try scanning the HDD with a manufacturer written test program if possible.

I'd back it up too as it could be the HDD on the way out.
