[Download] Network Slowdown Broadband

Hi Lads,

Need a little help.

I have a 200mb broadband connection, lately ive had a few issues with Virgin that are now resolved however this has led me to running regular speed checks.

Problem i have is directly after rebooting my PC a speed test will show download speeds of 220mb upload 21mb half an hour later this speed is halved on the download but upload remains the same, leave it another half hour and speeds can be as low as 70mb. Another PC on the same system is unaffected and will max out the connection.

So the problem is on one PC.

Things ive checked.

Swapped the nic card out.
Deleted and reinstalled the Nic card drivers
Ive also checked for anything hogging resources on the PC and unless im missing something i carnt find a problem.

As its just this PC it has to be software / win7 install i dont really want to do a fresh install.

Any ideas ?

We have similar, 2 samsung tablets , both same age but very different speeds, pc is wired with homeplugs ,pc upstairs router down and thats slower when plugged in than wireless. Never worked out why they are all different.

I carnt get my head around this PC has been fine, i just can not find what the issue is.

Im going to end with a windows re install i reckon.

Try Safe Mode with Networking and see if it runs full speed ?

Check and see if wake on lan is enabled or disabled in Bios and try it opposite way round,

Also check in router settings if it has different modes for wireless settinsg. mode 1 2 and 3 on Bt router. changing them helps with older devices

Check netstat, see what connections you have going out.
