Does that tell you what the cam is trying to do with the emm or just give you a log of Emm activity straight from the stream ?

I think what you need at the moment is to know exactly what the cam is doing with these Emm's and the keys your attempting to use. That info might give you an idea as to whether any of the keys are actually correct.

trying to get sorted with this too
im running evocamd 212 have followed your instructions but am getting not found this and that when trying to telnet to box...

this is what im sending via telnet
/var/script/evocamd_212_cam.sh stop/var/script/evocamd_212_cam.start>/tmp/file.txt

do i need to create a file.txt in var/tmp
take it easy on me im new to all this s**t

you dont have to create the file.txt you will find it in the tmp folder.
Also check the spelling is it 2.12

If you want to post logs then do it the same way any other cable related stuff is handled. Stick it on a download site and then post a link to it.

We just dont want the stuff on the DW server.

there are few ways to get mgcamd debug log
1 ) streaming log to PC
2) log file on PC HDD
3) log file on dm hdd ( dm600 etc)


here the mg_cfg :

# Log option, summ of:
# 00 Off
# 01 Network
# 02 console
# 04 file, appended ! delete it by yourself, before it eat all your hdd
# + IP udp-port log-file-name
# here the example for streaming log to pc ,192.168.2.136- is the IP of your PC ,514 - IS THE UDP port

# example for dm600 , log file to hdd,192.168.2.2-- ip of DREAMBOX

example for dm500 , log file to PC hdd,192.168.2.2 IP of the dm500 , u have to do mount first to use this option
L: { 04 }192.168.2.2 514 /var/mnt/hdd/movie/mgcamd.log


there are few debug options:
# debug, summ of
# 00 off (default)
# 01 debug ecm
# 02 debug emm
# 04 debug network ecm
# 08 debug network emm
# 16 debug network login
# 32 show mem/cpu stats every 1 min
# 64 add timestamp to log messages

u can use summ aswell :
get u log for ecm+emm (01+02=03):
D: { 03 }
get u ECM +timestamp:
D: { 65 }
and so on

1) the easiest way to get mgcamd log (streaming to PC):
mg_cfg

D: { 03 }

next thing , u need 3CSyslog installed on ur PC for live log streaming

l think these cable companies r shooting themselves in the foot , l know lads that r just moving straight to sly as cable r more pricier anyway .. they should be spending the money on pulling the feeds form none payers

lm in birmingham and its going to a fair few months before they get here ,, but l pay over 50 holes and cough cough this and that but l couldnt stay . l would get a good package for that off sky
