Someone has asked me about buying one of the above and i dont have a clue about them
so which is a good reliable one to buy between the £150-£250 mark


He wants to be able to use it with his tv to surf the net,download and playback HD movies, watch bbc iplayer in hd, etc


I have seen a Revo R3700 are they any good?

That should run xbmc no problem might be worth getting the 4GB version though

I would just get rid of linux put windows 7 on then install xbmc and vlc player.

The latest model appears to be the Revo RL70, but there has been a shift to the AMD E450 + HD 6320 rather than the Atom D525 + ION2 found in the R3700.

Benchmarks puts the E450 slightly over the D525, real world reviews suggest not much in it and perhaps favours the D525. Both will do what he asks, so go for which ever offers the connectivity he needs and is cheapest on the day.

Quick google suggests there may be a problem with AMD Fusion + linux + XBMC, but not looked further.
