Is this a broken screen ?

I am down in kent visiting my niece and she has shown me her "broken" TV. I don't know much about this type of thing but can handle a soldering iron and can replace laptop screens ect....probably why she has asked me to look at it lol. Anyway here is a picture of what happens when i turn the thing on

Now I take it that the plastic on the front screen is actually covering the main screen/panel. It certainly looks to me as if the screen behind is broken. What do you guys think ? BTW the model number is a Toshiba 42WLT66.

yes m8 new screen needed, more then linky get a new TV cheaper, but its worth checking about.

Yep - impact in centre of panel. It is cheaper to get a new one, toshiba parts are pricey

its pretty though - sell it as art
