got myself my first imac 27 3.06 ghz 10.6.8 looked on google for best apps for it but thought i,d ask you guys

If you setup bootcamp, you can dual boot into Windows.

cheers Exos will probs do that bored with windows 7 so thought i,d try this ..got network set up but in shared folder only showing dm800 not pc hddds ,,,,on windows pc sharing nps vlc playing db nps on imac so neally there just wanted to know what other apps peeps suggest

I know it's not strictly an app as such and it's not what you asked for, but it's still worthwhile none the less.

Things like Plex, or Parallels probably, but don't really spend a lot of time on my Mac, and most if not all apps are generally available on both platforms.

Caffeine (stops the sleep mode), or quicksilver (launch bar) also.

Was just having a look and there are a couple of others to try that look decent:

Screenflow or Screenio (screen recorder)
AppCleaner
DockLibrary (provides some dock options)
NeoOffice (Free)
Vuze (Download movies)
AppFresh (updater)
Transmission

Idreamx for your 800 is easy to use
Teamviewer
4media ipod converter
Toast - if you burn anything
and if you use nzbs - Unison

Check serial seeker 1st
