Iain Duncan Smith calls petition urging him to live on £53 a week a stunt

I have had a word with Iain Duncan Smith. He said he would be willing to do a deal. :) He said if you could persuade Him Her to stop talking bollox for one week he would consider living off £53.00 for one week only. He laughed at me and said that should throw people of his sent for many years as he knows this is such an impossible task. He turned to me then and said what about you coont. If you could support Man United again I would also consider the £53.00 per week proposal. I swiftly said no you have more chance with Him Her Lol. Sorry guy's I did try honestly. ;)

He didn't understand you M8 - he thought you meant 53 GRAND lol

Nope, went to deal with summat...

...anyway, back to living on £53 a week.

1 - ditch ALL possessions (£53 a week per person we're talking here so they all ditch)
2 - week one, you all starve and gather the means to survive I.e. bivvy bags on EBay (£9.99) - more later
3 - locate your local McDonalds
4 - now, that bivvy bag, nip round to your local Army n Navy store and use the remaining £43 for warm stuff
5 - and a waterproof
6 - when it's light, walk up and down places looking for stuff to nick
7 - when it's getting close to tea time head back to McDonalds and get a Big Mac (second and subsequent weeks)
8 - a Big Mac is about £3 so £21 a week so a McMuffin for brekkie is in the budget ;)
9 - skip lunch and just do McMuffin and Big Mac - about 2000 calories but you ain't moving much so no worries

Then just hit the bivvy until tomorrow, what's the problem?

Oh, remember Winter? You'll have to do some aggravated crime around the end of September so you can get banged up for Winter and be out for Spring.

I would have posted this in Fun & Laughter but I didn't get the joke :(

why are you eating out ?

Just an update Email that I received today guys more signatures please. :)

******-

This has been an inspiring week. I am incredibly grateful to everyone for taking the time out to sign the petition and change the public debate.

On Monday I'll be delivering the petition and it would be great to hit 500,000 signatures by then -- we're just 60,000 away. Can you take a moment to share the petition with your friends and family this weekend and ask them to sign? Just forward the email below.

The more people that sign the petition the harder it will be for Iain Duncan Smith to dismiss the genuine concerns of almost half a million people as "a stunt".

So please forward this email to friends or family and ask them to add their name by Monday.

Thanks,
Dominic

P.S. I've also been sent this infographic showing how many people across the UK are backing this petition. Click here to share it on Twitter.

Hi,

Have you signed the petition to have Iain Duncan Smith, the Work and Pensions Secretary, live on £53 a week? I added my name here: www.change.org/IDSpetition

In a radio interview on Monday, Iain Duncan Smith was asked by a market stall trader if he could live on £53 a week, the amount the trader said he must survive on after recent benefit cuts. Iain Duncan Smith replied "If I had to, I would."

The petition is calling on Iain Duncan Smith to prove it and live on this budget for at least a year.

More than 440,000 have already signed the petition and we want to hit 500,000 by Monday when the petition will be delivered. So please sign now at: www.change.org/IDSpetition

Thanks

I've no doubt a few of his party members have privately changed his I.D.S. acronym recently to idiotic, dumb smeghead
after this comment, another of many recent vote winning comments for the Conservatives.
