excelent news mate.
is the USB working now?
right now you have done everything format the memory stick in the PSP.
it will create all the folders for you.
you put ISO / CSO files in the ISO folder.
then goto the game menu on the PSP and choose memory stick and choose the game to play.
you will need a UMD in to play CSO/ISO backups unless you choose the NO-UMD option.
if you press the "home" button on the PSP it will bring up the VSH menu.
move down to UMD ISO MODE and select the sony NP9660 no-umd.
now you can play games without a UMD in.
also you can set your CPU speed in the VSH menu.
i always have mine set as "CPU CLOCK XMB" 300
"CPU CLOCK GAME" 333
you also have a recovery menu with custom firmware. to access it you turn the PSP fully off by holding the off switch up for 4 seconds.
then hold the R button and turn it back on.
it will enter you into the recovery menu where you can set many useful features.
for example in configuration you can hide corrupt icons and set region fakes etc
