Help updating softmodded Wii from 3.2e to latest

Ive got a wii on 3.2e that i softmodded a long time ago, its sat unused under the TV for about 18 months, so iv'e decided to give it to my mum but i want to update it first.
I've forgotten more than i can remember about softmodding wii's so whats the best method/software to use? also will it need the usb loader updating?, whats the best option there?

Use Modmii and just follow the instructions, m8. If a muppet like me can get it to work, anyone can!

you can use use modmii to:
1: mod
2: update
3: add channels (wii official channels like shopping)
4: add a usb loader

all in one go...
real simple..

Things have come a long way since i did anything with a wii. Modmii really has taken the toil out of softmodding.
