help buying a laptop

hi
need some advice on buying a laptop.
i`m getting one for my daughter for christmas. looking to spend at tops £400 but would prefer to spend less lol
its gonna be just for surfing and very general use, no gaming or anything like that.
these look alright but would prefer a bit of advice

if you're gonna go for the acer you might as well spend the extra 20 quid or so and get the hp that falkirk posted mate as its worth much more than 20quid difference. but as you say, if its just for browsing and so on, get the cheapest.
