Try this lads - Download Coolstreaming from the official website at http://www.coolstreaming.org

open coolstreaming program up from where it was installed to in "my computer"

in cool streaming change the preferences (2nd icon from right shown as a hand with a piece of paper) so that the application to open asf files reads C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe

u will have a list of channels, scroll down and double click on espn and wait for it to open up in vlc player

wait for 10 to 15 mins for the stream to sort itself out

U need a connection higher than the stream quality/bit rate. For example for the espn link to work (280k) u need a higher internet connection than that. Test sports (740k) will need a 1mb broadband or higher to work

Most commentries are in chinese so need you to find english radio commentry which is available to those in the uk from the BBC.

1) Go to www.pplive.com
2) Click on the 'download' button in the upper right corner. Save to disk.
WARNING: The instructions aren't in English but are pretty straight forward, any one should be able to easily guess the YES or NO buttons
3) Once you have installed the program, click on the link to the right of the first red button at www.pplive.com
4) Once this page comes up, click on the words 'Program list' on the left side of the page, and you'll see a list of familiar channels.
5) Click 'play' next to CCTV-5 etc

Some tips on use:

1) If you 'Right Click' the icon in the taskbar, and select the option next to the last one then the language changes from Chinese to English - much easier to understand what is going on and configure.

2) A translated version of the web page, which is here: http://translate.google.com/transla...xt&hl=en&u=http://www.pplive.com/source.shtml

3) If you click on a channel to start it from the web page, you may have to manually start the player from the first option on 'right cick' (start player)

STARSPORTS HBO CTV5 and other Sport channels available

Here is another new FREE program TV.NET9.ORG with more channels including ESPN, STARSPORTS, BTV-6, HBO and CNN.

I have downloaded at http://tv.net9.org/ where you have the choice of Windows, Mac OS or Linux.

Download and Save onto your hard drive. Bigger file than Coolstreaming of PPLive (1.8MB)
Double click the file called fedian.exe. A box opens with a lot of Chinese.

Select a Channel a channel (has ESPN, STARSPORTS HBO etc in the window) then click the left hand button at the botton of the box.

A small tv screen appears besides the computer clock at the bottom of your screen.

Wait and different pop up buffering messages in Chinese appear before your media player will then open up.

From then if you want to change the channel right click the TV icon then select the top option you will then get the list again then just repeat the process above. The second icon takes you to the home page at http://tv.net9.org/

Really excellent quality and doesn't seem to slow the computer down like the other two programs.
