Alanbar Satellite Channel is on the S2 North African,Middle East beam that requires a 120cm dish,

53 east
12640 V 2894 id Tandberg Service,

I am using a 90cm dish but only get this channel in the 12500 to 12750 band,

All the other tv comes in easily on the European beam.

In theory I should not be able to receive this channel.

footprints are only a guide and its pot luck when recieving out of footprint channels. i recieve about halve a dozen channels in the 12.500 to 12.750 band on this bird although at low snr levels of between 4.5db to about 7db. im in the north west of england using a DR-HD F15, triax td110 and a icecrypt lnb. regards mdt

I was using the old TM6900HD Super+ for this with a 90 cm mesh dish + Inverto Black Ultra 0.2 as my 104cm set up only gets 48 east to 58 west.

I may have to consider swapping the dishes around this summer.

do you get anything off 47.5/48east on either set up? regards mdt

Yes I have been getting signals from Intelsat 10 on both set ups @ 47.5 east most of the time there is a data stream on 11579 H 2105 occasional feeds on 11530 V 6000 last week with X-Factor Arabia then an Arabic News feed 11530 V 3125,

Nothing for the last 2 nights bit like Telstar 11N 37.5 west only one feed every other night in the 12500 to 12750,

The only other new transmissions that i found last month was the CBS feeds on 34.5 west Intelsat 903 couple of French feeds for C+ also using this bird that is about it for the outer satellites here long gone are the days when you could watch the cricket from Oz on 58 west now the inner satellites have most of the feeds sown up from 16 east to 24.5 west using RAS & now Tandberg Director it all used to be so much easier when they used the outer satellites without encryption but that is progress as they say.

i agree although there is still a great deal of fta feeds around but big events ect are either 4.2.2 and/or b.i.s.s./tandberg/RAS. TELSTAR 11N is a strange one as its been up nearly 4 years now although TELSTAR 12 is nearing the end of its lifespan so maybe a switch over could be in the pipeline if a replacement isnt planned at 15west. 27.5west is another empty bird apart from the satback relay and the odd feed for rte in 4.2.2.,regards mdt

I did think that the NBC feeds would have migrated to 37.5 west but with only dove vision active on the European beam with a couple of transponders aimed at Africa it is possible that they may do a swap with the 2 satellites as the African beam could work as well at 15 west as it currently does at 37.5 west,

IS-12 @ 45 east not much here in the way of feeds so they could relay direct from Western Australia to Europe but they would sooner route the Oz feeds via an up link from probably Optus D2 then eventually after a couple of hops down link from Eutelsat 10 east ?
