got a 8 year old boxer , had him from pup .
these past few months , he getting really nasty .
growling and stuff , even snappin out .
He just found a plum pip , i took it off him (he growled and went for me )
i proper screamed at him to get in his bed (which he did while still growling)

i dont know whats wrong with him at all , he never had a bloody growl in him for 8 years ....he has always , always been a great , good natured dog !

Maybe dogs have bad days to Chris. If you think he is still good natured then leave it at that but if you think he is turning nasty, you may have a decision to make, especially if kids are around.

My mum got MY jack russell put down after about 10 years cos it started to snap at my kids, it was my jack russell from a pup but when I got married I left it with mum and dad cos they wanted it to stay there.

It was a painful decision but we did give it a while to see if it was just a one off, turned out the vet recommended putting it down.

When this happens you must stand your ground keep eye contact until he looks away, give him a short loud ha sound when he is in the wrong. This is how I got the better of our nasty dog when we got him at 6 years of age he was very aggressive around his food, plus give plenty of treats for being obedient.

Plus as Magnu420 said we had him snipped, he has put on a bit of weight but he's now a real softy.

Why was he castrated when he was 8?

Was he ill?

maybe its that time of year maybe he can hear some fireworks
going off,or jealous about summat

Yeah that's a good point animals can get realy stressed around bommy night.
Our little beast has been ok, but when we had cats they used to freak.

Seems like a few people on here don't know Boxers. The advice is rubbish!

yes mate , both red/white boxers ...
she nearly one now , still a puppy (we had her from 3 month old ),
they get on great , best buddies )

Not for much longer mate...I'll wage money on that.

Is it possible he may be in pain?

If only Dogs could talk.

Then maybe I'd find out why mine gets an erection everytime I play with him.

;)

well...we (and family) have bred boxers all our life .
Never had a problem at all with boxers both male and female not getting on .
so im not sure what you mean by your comment ? experts and vets will all tell you the best boxer
household "pairing" is male/female .
but that is not the problem i have......

I wonder fooking why???

He's 8 yrs old for christ sake. He's accepted his place in the pack and lived happily with it,adults then him.

Fair enough you introduce another dog,he can live with that as he is still in his same pack order.

But no,you take it a step further. You,as alpha male, decide to cut his fooking knackers off.

Do you see where this is going or should we get more in-depth with it?

I'm not saying your stupid in the way you've gone about it but...erm...you are!
