distored sound on vista laptop

hiya

Ithe sound on the laptop is distored (acer 4315) vista home (realtek HD)

I have lowered volume, reinstalled drivers but the sound is still distored (inc youtube, mp3, dvd, cd etc)

any ideas

A few people have reported problems with Realtek under Vista, a bizzare fix is to update your wireless driver.

Alternatively uninstall the Realtek driver and use the default Vista sound driver - though you loose several functions.
