Hi
Last week I was in Staples where I saw a laptop for sale someone had stolen the hard drive so it was reduced in price. I managed to negotiate to less than half price.

A while ago my Lappy went belly up so thought I'd just put the hard drive from that into the new one.

I did that and all the program's worked.

Here's the problem: the drivers are all the wrong ones so no Internet at all and the sound and webcam are iffy.

The new Lappy is 64bit and HP don't supply 32bit drivers for it.
the Lappy is a HP Pavilion G6 using the Amd A6 processor.

I've downloaded Windows 64bit but have been told it has to be installed on a clean HD. I don't want to format the HD and lose all my programs
Anybody amongst our illustrious crowd got any ideas.

Sorry for waffling on

Hi
Thanks for all your replies. I have taken them all onboard.
I have the specs now

Pavilion G6 2101EA
Processor 2.7ghz AMD dual core A6-4400m APU with Radeon HD 7520g graphics
Chipset AMD A 70M FCH
Cache 1mb L2
6gig ddr3

Thanks again for your interest

By the way the WLAN adapter is Microsoft 6to4, there's another entry Isapt6to4 what're ever they are. I didn't know Microsoft made these components

Thanks Oneman
I now have wireless. Now I can get started on the other drivers.
i'll use 32bit for now and upgrade to 64bit later when I clean up the hard drive.
Thanks for your graft. Rep left

Thanks everyone, I can now get on with the rest.
i appreciate it so much I've repped you all.
incidently for those of you that read my op and wondered how I paid for lappy,
it was £180. Not bad eh. Couldn't resist it.
thanks again pilgrims

Don't go 32bit. And use something like drivermax to find the right drivers. Nearly all Laptop and PC's are now 64bit. You WILL find drivers.
