alright guys,

I have a digital Optical audio OUT connection at the back of my tele.. I was wondering if it could also be used as an INPUT ??

Please advise, as I need to connect a device and source the audio in the Samsung LCD

No. Unfortunatly S/PDIF and TOSlink are unidirectional.

Out of interest what is the model number of your TV and what are you trying to connect to it, see if I cannot find some other way of doing it for you....

its an R88 40 inch LCD TV from Samsung.. Trying stuff to get more sound from my Dreambox.. and thought If I used optic out from the box into the tele.. but as you say its not possible.. so Im gutted..

Nah...unlucky chap. You would need to plug it into some form of 5.1 decoder, either an av amp or all in one home cinema box, not the other way round.
