Hi guys hopefully somebody can help me, thinking of getting a gigabit switch to make the transfers between my pc and ps3s faster. I currently have a second router upstairs, mostly to extend the wifi but its also sharing the 1 cat5 between the 2 ps3s. I know that i can use the one cat 5 to the switch then plug everything upstairs into the switch but what i need help with is can i connect the 2nd router to switch to still extend the wireless upstairs, has anybody done anything like this before or know if it will work. Here is a diagram to show what im trying to do, thanks in advance to any replies

yes and I have done such a setup

I have 3 routers a Buffalo and 2 DLink all running ddwrt

the main router that has the virgin media cable modem connected is the buffalo routerm one of the dlink routers downstairs is connected to main router via a cat5 cable and then the 3rd router upstairs it connected to the first dlink router using wireless repeaeter bridge mode - and works flawlessly.

diagram is

vm cable modem <--> Buffalo <--cat5 cable--> Dlink #1 <-- wireless repeater bridge --> DLink #2
