I can't find anything on this, but I'm damned sure this is fraud..
My daughter just joined a Gym here in Liverpool, she went into the Gym and the sales guy took her address and details, took her debit card went into another room, swiped it and brought it back out to her with the POS receipt, having just taken £20. the receipt says "Customer Not Present" when she quite clearly was. No
Chip/Pin, No Signature.
Bizarrely he's meant to be calling her tonight to take a further payment.
I've already give her the usual as has her mother, but isn't this fraudulent given she was actually stood there and wasn't asked to sign or enter a Pin. From what I've just read CNP transactions are for internet, telephone type sales only.
