Can I keep old sky+ box?

I got Sky HD being installed on Saturday but I've only had my Sky+ for 10 months. Will I be able to keep my old box or will the installer take it back? Do you think Installer will know how long I've had the box?

I don't have Sky, however I'm fairly sure that once they give you a box it's yours. They don't continue to own the box as other companies do, and request it back once you end your contract

unless yoru getting a reduced rate for shy hd by swapping your box..

but yes ionce you get a box from sky its yours to keep..

and they only warrenty it for a year

dont give it to the sky installer unless he has a letter stateing you have to return it and a receipt to give you for it as he will either sell to his mate or ebay it and make a few bucks for himself and you get nothing
