can doing a Wii system format with Preloader installed cause a brick?

I've just read that if you've used cioscorp (Preloader mainly) and you initiate a Wii system format theres a chance you can brick your Wii?

best keep the TP hack on lads or vicious rumour? or what

Interesting issue. This makes me wonder what the formatting option exactly does (not searched it yet). Since PreLoader moves the main.dol (SysMenu dol) and installs itself instead I can imagine that a format is f*cking something up.

Damn... no time for sorting everything out I wanna know

i get the feeling that formatting Could cause a brick of u have Preloader on, but Preloader stays on to recover.

Hi

I did a wii system format whilst preloader was on and can say it didnt brick my wii. I did lose my wii menu though but preloader helped me recover.
