How many of you believe that in order to punish an Iraqi prisoner, that a female soldier stripped off and attempted to f*ck his brains out.

Sounds like fantasy world to me.
For those of you that do beleive it I have some advice.

army aint responsible to punishing em or not....cant u see whats wrong here...sexual abuse regardless of it being on men on women, women on men or either on children it is completely wrong.

they are men out there desperate and wud luvd 2 gt raped and dream of this as there fantasy as ican tell by some of the comments on this thread...but that dont count for most men.

and the sexual abuse wont the only stuff that happened if u actually read the article...

This is an allegation, nothing has been proved all service men and women are innocent until proven guilty.

i totally agree, all the soldiers and all the innocent people that were killed regardless or religion, race or background cant be justified. but to abuse or torture each other wont fix anything....but what scares me the worst is people starting to think its ok...

Rather than a bosomy prison guard giving you the ride of your life, it would be more likely to involve you bent over and having something inserted in an unpleasant place and manner, and male-on-male sodomy isn't unheard of either in those sort of circumstances. Again, I make no assumptions about your personal proclivities, but I would guess it's something most guys would find less than desirable.

I had more or less the same discussion with an American a few months before the Abu Graib story broke, and he dismissed the idea of wrong-doing with the same empty, rhetorical bluster as you do, so I'll give you the same advice I gave him and suggest that you think of it less as navel gazing and more as moving beyond the prevailing daddy-is-the-bestest-daddy-in-the-world mindset that leads so many to blindly support whatever the home team deems acceptable behavior.

If I believed that there was mass scale rape and torture being conducted by our armed forces, then I would ask the questions you have.

But like I've said at least twice throughout the thread, it was never merely an issue of just these latest allegations, which I genuinely hope are proven to be false. I've never suggested the majority of the military are rapists, but if they share your it's-about-power-and-that's-ok view, then they're bad eggs, period.

I am no blind loyalist, especially not to the UK per se. The western way of life, as opposed to Shariah law? Definitely.

But it's never been an issue of western way of life vs Shariah law. That's just another one of these nonsensical "they hate our freedom/way of life" diversions your kind resort to when your argument hits the wall, and which all too often (and a few beers later) leads to the heart of the matter: "we should just nuke the place".

Yes, that would surely sound somewhat more agreeable to many men, but it would still by all legal standards be considered sexual assault or rape if the person in question does not consent.

I couldn't say if that specific incident happened, that's for the investigation to decide, but there's no question that things of a similar and more serious nature do take place.
