box stuck??

Sorry mate, I only have the 2nd June image handy, otherwise I'd have uploaded it to Rapidshare for you.

Would you like me to download the 31st May image and uplaod it to Rapidshare?

I'll post links in 10 - 20 minutes mate.

so im not the only 1

seems like this could be the reason why tm were delaying the boxs
???

Tried all the firmware now guys, but still no joy!

Keeps saying Starting on TV and receiver shows "Loading PLi-E2 UR..." scrolling on the LCD display, but does nothing!!

When I connect via Miniweb Interface I can not upload anything either!!

It's a brand new item and I can't believe it dead already.

if its getting this far, boot into miniroot (not miniweb) and reflash from usb, then go through the setup wizard, then do a factory reset

Been doing that too digi, I get the "SUCCESSFUL" once all is done, but the receiver just sticks on loading PLi message with nothing on the screen!

I have another TM800 which worked first time round and got no issues (well a couple which I will post separate), but seems like the other one is bricked!

Regards

Not looking good is it.

Possibly 2 bricks in less than a week.

Make that 3

the thing that pisses me off is i cant unbrick it

plus if u look at some of the logs i posted there are a few bad blocks in the nand

i wonder if these have anything to do with it bricking??

and i just got full hd pack activated on white card! :(

Hopefully we will get this sorted at some point, can remember being in similar positions with many other receivers and then out comes the serial lead!!

Ive just managed to get it working again don't ask me how :(

I just kept turning on and off doing the flash process over and over until it took

ok got my box up and running using hyperterminal

ok when u power on box be ready to hit the enter key once it says starting
then type loady

it will put the box in recieve over serial port mode
then in hyperterminal click on send file
then choose file and in options choose ymodem

it will take around 2hrs to flash

after that reboot ur box

and it will stick on starting for a bit then it will go to ur e2 pl1
and ur box should be working again

dont know how long this will last like

lol

Good work mate....2 hrs flash time sounds about right considering the image is what 50 or 60 meg ? Takes 20 mins to transfer a 20 meg OpenPli Image to a Dream600 over serial..

Wow, how the fook did you work that one out!? :)

Great work mate.

Now all we need is for Technomate to create a clone of DreamUp which allows the serial and LAN connection. That flashes Dreamboxes in seconds rather than minutes (or hours as the case may be).

lol

easy

once i got it logged into hyperterminal
i saw its got a countdown before it autoboots

and to stop it u press any key

i think its was the old ambit modems were u flash it over serial port and u had to press a key to stop it auto booting

once i had the prompt

i just typed in help to see a basic supported command list

it had loady and loadk

loady = modemy mode
loadk = kermit mode

i found the kermit mode to be very slow it was saying 22hrs!
so tried loady and it flashed it in 2hrs

then rebooted box and it was unbricked
and loaded the image but i flashed the 05/06/10 image using loady

but its loaded my old 31/05/10 image

some how i think it must have 2 partitions and 1 of them is still fooked!

if technomate releases a proper serial loader that can whipe the box to factory blank and start over then that would be great

Great work mate :)

It's probably got 2 banks of flash chips, maybe it loads the new image into bank 1 then verifies it, if it is ok then it'll boot from that, if not it'll failsafe to bank 2, which has a backup of the last working verified image?

Did you get any verification errors in your Telnet log?
