Mobile Phones Blackberry 8900 trackball ???

Hey guys
I've been given an 8900 to replace the trackball. I've bought a new one and fitted it , still doesn't work. Bought another one , did the same. Still doesn't work.
I've put a motherboard in from a working 8900 and it still doesn't work.
I'm completely flummoxed , any ideas please.

I've got an 8900, and the trackball occasionally stops working. It's a known issue on Blackberry's site. They recommend taking the battery out and putting it back in again :-(

Thanx for the reply. I've tried that loads. I have heard its a software issue. Do you know of any way I can completely wipe it back to how it was when first bought
