To be honest it's probably a bit late for that, i would rest it elevated as much as possible for the swelling, but at this stage whatever it is is chronic, so you really need to get the doctor to give you a diagnosis and recommended treatment.
Where is the lump exactly is it right beside the bone, or more like in the middle of the muscle?
and for the last time, no it's not me lol
ok, but is it at the side of the leg, the back, or the bony bit at the shin? There are muscles called the peronals that run down the side of the leg, it could be soft tissue damage to them, it could be adhesions to the achilles tendon, or it could be a calcium deposit like you suggested earlier.
And what movements make it worse. If you point your toes towards your head, is that sore?
This sounds interesting, apparently you can test for stress fractures by putting your mobile phone on vibrate and holding it to the shin bone. If it hurts a lot you have a fracture (maybe only hairline) in the bone. If it hurts a little bit you might have periosteal inflammation and if it only tickles the bone is ok
it sounds like soft tissue damage to the peroneals, but you should still go to the doctor to get a proper diagnosis and a referral to a physio or massage therapist
let us know how you get on
Can you not ring and make an appointment, might take a couple of weeks to get one anyway if it's not urgent.
And in the meantime elevate your leg in the evenings, and maybe ask the chemist if he would recommend taking vitamin D supplements.
@ smirnoff did it hurt when you did this :roflmao:
