anyone kow about leg injurys ?

Always a prob of mine just jumping in lol, so give me some good news then bud will my ankle ever be the same !? cos my bone as bloody grown like yours

The problem if it is a soft tissue injury is that scar tissue grows back criss cross in the muscle, whereas normal muscle fibres grow in one direction, the scar tissue pulls on the muscle stopping it from moving properly and causing pain. So if it is scar tissue it would need to be stripped (sports massage technique) which basically breaks it down and gets all the fibres back working in the one direction. Scar tissue could also cause circulation problems as well, hence the swelling in the leg.

But i would ask your GP about it and he might refer you to a physio or sports massage therapist.

so if l rap it up now for a few weeks ie to test if that help first Evastar

if thats u in the picture can u come around and do some massage on it lol .. ld feel better then lm sure

To be honest it's probably a bit late for that, i would rest it elevated as much as possible for the swelling, but at this stage whatever it is is chronic, so you really need to get the doctor to give you a diagnosis and recommended treatment.

Where is the lump exactly is it right beside the bone, or more like in the middle of the muscle?

and for the last time, no it's not me lol

its below the muscle and just above the ankle m8

ok, but is it at the side of the leg, the back, or the bony bit at the shin? There are muscles called the peronals that run down the side of the leg, it could be soft tissue damage to them, it could be adhesions to the achilles tendon, or it could be a calcium deposit like you suggested earlier.

And what movements make it worse. If you point your toes towards your head, is that sore?

This sounds interesting, apparently you can test for stress fractures by putting your mobile phone on vibrate and holding it to the shin bone. If it hurts a lot you have a fracture (maybe only hairline) in the bone. If it hurts a little bit you might have periosteal inflammation and if it only tickles the bone is ok

it sounds like soft tissue damage to the peroneals, but you should still go to the doctor to get a proper diagnosis and a referral to a physio or massage therapist :)

let us know how you get on

Can you not ring and make an appointment, might take a couple of weeks to get one anyway if it's not urgent.

And in the meantime elevate your leg in the evenings, and maybe ask the chemist if he would recommend taking vitamin D supplements.

Thats a feckin nasty one mate and a would have got that checked straight away.
A had something similar 10yrs ago when a forklift pinned me to a van and crushed ma knee that needed surgery.
In the winter its a pain and it often swells up like a balloon and last year a had to get it drained as a couldn't bend it at all.
A found Ibuprofen works very well for swelling and pain but you need to get a specialist opinion..
The specialist told me that a clean leg break is a lot easier to deal with than tissue and ligament damage..
