ok guys im going to have to put my super hub downstairs to connect my openbox leaving my pc upstairs to be wi fi enabled so my question is instead of having a 30 meter ethernt lead to connect another box in my bedroom could i use the wi fi enabled pc upstairs to the box by an ethernet cable????
i hope i explained that ok for you?

Ethernet cables are surprisingly cheap even long ones like 30mtr, cant beat a hard wired connection in my experience.

Sounds like you're trying to route through the PC and not all versions of Windows will support that.

Home plugs are simples - just plug them in - some examples here.

ok so i take iti plug an ethernet into the router and one plug and then upsatirs run a ethernet from the plug to the box?
im new to all this malarky

Yep your right one homeplug to router and other homeplug to your device simple as it comes.

I was in the same situation and was trying to work out a route without ruining the decs with a UTP cable, went for the Homeplugs spot on and easy to setup. Lot easier than clipping cables or lifting floor boards anyway
