Advice needed on firmware 1.4E and r4 card

Hi,
I've recently bought my daughter a DSI XL with firmware 1.4E on it and am looking for an R4 card. In my haste I purchased a R4 3DS Gold which I can't get too work.
I am basically looking at what card I need to buy and what firmware/kernel I need. Any advice would be vastly appreciated as I haven't done this before.

Ace 3ds pro is popular now and will work on your console..

quite cheap as well afaik..

Rightly or wrongly I have now updated the firmware in a bit to get the R4i 3DS Gold card manufactured by R4i-GOLD / PRODUCT_R4i-GOLD Revolution for NDSi/NDSL/NDS . Unfortunately it only seems that they have the Gold Pro 3DS card which has the appropriate kernel for what is now 1.4.5E . I guess its going to be a case of waiting until the kernels are updated for this card.
I couldn't see what else I could put on this specific card to make it work.

the r4i gold 3ds should work in the updated console.... (may need an update)

what exactly is printed on the card?

can u post a picture of it?

that card should work in your 3ds console, (might need an update)


do you have access to a dslite or dsi running old firmware?

Nope, literally just have this DSi XL.

ahh, i misread you post.. sorry
for some reason i thought you had a 3ds...

that card cannot be used on a dsi 1.4.5...

i doubt very much that a patch will be released for it....

think you will need a new card..

Hmmm, that's what I thought might be the answer. Can you link to any that will work with the upgraded firmware? UK would be nice...if they are allowed to sell them over here.

need to make sure you have a card already updated though if you dont have an old console to update yourself..
