Had a reply from DVB saying I should check if the tuner is loose as the newer models sometimes get unplugged slightly in transit.

Will check soon.

Tuners do feel a bit loose. But what should I do? There is a sticker saying warrenty void stopping me opening the box...

Ok m8 no problem, your right sometimes things can come across in the wrong way on these boards, strange if it is the tuner you would think that the menu would come up?

DVB said no problem on the warranty open them up.

The tuner is not plugged in at all on the first one.

Once I worked out how to remove the back plate then it was easy enough to put it back in....

And it works!

surprised no menu even with a loose /unplugged tuner. We should really incorporate all these problems into the troubleshooting sticky.

one of mine came with a loose tuner which i ordered and i could not be bothered to send it back so i opened it and sort the loose tuner out. all i have to do in force it to sit properly on the pins and that was fine.
