hi i got a cuberevo 9000 hd but i think there are too many problems with it the software such as the epg doesnt work some of the cams for c/s dont work and many more probs so i am getting rid of it and was considering buying a different hd box can anybody tell me which one i should go for i want one that has twin tuner one sat and one cable and also one that i can have hard drive with to pause and rewind live tv.

i have seen the drembox 8000 hd and also the qbox hd and the azbox hd on some forums but i cant find much out about any of them and would like your info on how each one is....

how is the epg on them
is there much support for them
what bugs are there in the firmware still
what good features do they have
what bad features do they have

thanks so much

I think the epg with all boxes is going to be a sticking point which requires a little bit of fine tuning to get it to work as we all expect.

As with support, them boxes you mention are all pretty new so you are going to be the one doing the testing so to speak. A bit like you are doing with that 9000 box you have.

What type of cardsharing you trying to do? I know that you can only enter one line so you cant get the box to act as a server and a client yet.

Maybe someone who has the same box can help you over come the problems you are having, i prety sure they can be sorted. But it all depend what cams you want to use etc, let us know so we could advise you more.

the box i have seems to have so many software problems at the min really maybe because it is so new and as far as i can find out it doesnt support the most popular ccam it does mgcamd and evocamd but evocamd is not stable and also the new incubus cam but i cant get this to work either.
the epg is really none existant because of dgstation they wouldnt impliment it because it can casue too many problems so it stores epg data in memory and not the hard drive so it can only save the epg for the transponder you are on at the time and noting more. there is a webepg plugin that you can configure to get it to work better but it is too much messing about for me to be doing that every day and not all channels are available with it anyway so there isnt any point in me going to all that trouble. so because the epg isnt working or at least yet the pvr function is useless because you cant set it up to time record so what is the point. yes all the hardware and things seem to be excellent and it would be excellent if enigma 2 was finished for the box but it apparently needs a lot of work still so will not be ready any time soon.
and i just dont have the patience to hang on and wait for months and months for it to get working.

i was trying to read a bit about the boxes i mentioned in post 1 but there is very limited info about them all and all the info i can find is on sellers sites and they will make the box sound really good as they did with the ipbox 9000hd and in reality it isnt all it is cracked up to be not yet anyway but maybe in time. i would love to hang onto it until the software is sorted because i do believe it is an excellent box and also set for the future but at the min it just isnt up to scratch.
and i cant afford to buy another and keep the ipbox also so i was going to sell it on to somebody that either can make it work better or that wants to mess and wait for fixes (unlike me) lol

but i dont want to just jump in again and buy something because it is supposto be good i want to get advise first.

the best boxes i have had are the dreambox 500 the dreambox 600 and the itgate 220 and 210 box as it was enigma and it worked as it should.

any advice on the other boxes would be excellent

bear in mind there isnt that much info i can find out about them i dont even know which of the boxes support sat and cable

thansk

I know incubus works connecting to cccam server. But as for the epg you have obviously been following the development on it.

You are after sat and cable the only box i know that fits the bill is the dm8000 but that comes at a hefty price.

The dm800 i think would be a good choice but as your after the cable tuner it falls short. what about buying the dm800 and use that (you could then have cable box set aside for if/when the net goes down?)

The azbox an the qbox i think is going to be worst than your 9000.

i cant get incubus cam to work i cant make it install correctly so i have had to leave that one. any idea how long enigma 2 will be until it is ready at least for testing on a dual tuner 9000 box that will support cable and sat at the same time?

is there any more detailed explanation on how to get ccam installed and then up and running because i cant even make it install and be recognised in the box?

any idea how long enigma 2 will be until it is released to support dual tuner and cable

you can not yet install cccam yet. what you can do is use incubuscamd to connect to a cccam server, using the config line bro posted.

as for the enigma 2 and dual tuner i have no idea sorry..

for mroe info on the ipbox cube revo getting enigma2 up and running (its currently in beta stage at the moment)

visit one of their official forums (dont know of one myself )

i have seen the beta enigma 2 but at the moment it doesnt support twin tuner and it dosent work with cable either a bit silly really as i think it must me more for the 900 not the 9000 as the 900 is the single tuner not twin and as i can figure out there are different hardwares in the 900 to the 9000 so if they perfect it for the 900 it doesnt mean that it will be as simple as adjusting it to work on the 9000 shame really
