Ive been reading that some people are useing a Diablo cam in there Humax Freesat Boxs with Sky card and getting CH4 HD

what do you sat guys know or think about this,is it possible and what costs are involved
is it worth the cost etc

I'd say that you might be able to buy a diablo v2.2 cheap, because everyone wants the current v2.3 because it gets the latest hacks. You wont need the latest conax channels so you may be fine with an older version.

The main thing is that you will need a cam programmer, but i think the even newer wireless version will not need a programmer. I made a post in the euro sat section and linked here, because there are lots of diablo users on the forum and hopefully they can tell you more.

Are the reports of this working saying its for the humax foxsat or only the newer humax dvr receiver?

it seems on further reading its the HDR Humax

cant see it being the standard humax hd freesat boxes as there is not a ci slot or card slot

i use a dragoncam with my sky card in my TV's built in freesat decoder. I can get CH4HD this way....and works a charm but i need to slap the card back into my sat reciever to update it every now and again. I've heard this is the same if you use a diablo cam as well. The dragon cams are quite cheap these days and could be a good alternative to the Diablo.

I take it you TV has a CI slot then ?
the foxsat don't have a CAM as it has no internal CI slot
I'm still a novice at the Sat side of things but learning slowly Lol so be patient :)

sorry for the late reply @rat,

Yeh my tv has a Cam slot, if the reciever doesnt have a NDS compatible card slot slot then you wont be able to use a sky card.....the only alternative is a cam bot as youve said is that it doesnt have a CAM slot either.

What does the STB manual say regarding compatibility?

Ive now been looking for ages how this works and its very "deep" any pointers would be a great help, I have the humax PVR and am looking for reading material on the Diable Cards ;) to find out what they can do?

didnt someone say it wasnt possible with Humax PVR due to it not having a CI slot?
The Humax Foxsat HDR (PVR) does have a CI slot behind the fascia panel and yes it does work I have it working with a DragonCcam, I have also tested it with the Diablo lite cam it works well with both. The only problem being that you have to switch from freesat mode to STB mode to do it
