kryptview a780 help!!

trying to load latest firmware on to box but when i click start on the stb editor i get the message cannot open serial port com1.....im using just the ethernet cable is that ok or do i need to use a rs232????

From what I have read you need the null modem cable it will not work like the linux boxes with ftp....

also some are saying the latest firmware is not good chirping box etc

yep you need to do it with a rs232
also if your computer does not have the port for connection
you need a "usb rs232 converter"

premprop when you get it plugged in etc could you look in the tv out put settings and let me know what options it gives you please..

lol....i know sorry m8 just been far 2 busy iv only just got round to setting my box up today!.....working well tho but as u said earlier a bit chirpy with the newest firmware only happens once every wee while tho.

go back one fw then whats the pic quality like? and are you N3 now in your area? I had a right go at virmin earlier wanted to charge me £20 less a year than a new customer told em to stick it and cancelled so on 30 days notice now...

but if it works well might just get one and reduce my bb sub with virmin.

ye i might..ill try it for a couple of more days first, picture quality is quite good considering im watching it on a very old tele right now due to moving house and yes went n3 few months ago....lol ye a told them to stick it too defo going with sky when i move to new house,never tryed the sat game but canna wait to play about with it.

im currently with virmin bb and have rigged up my kva780 through it i read a post somewhere about them being able to tell i have done this and it mentioned about hiding my ip address anyone know to do this??

i just pushed the search button on bottom left hand corner of the remote and all channels went off trying a network scan but seems to be taking forever is this normal??

if you did not do a factory reset the list should still be there and working,this unit if setup correctly will scan in sleep mode.:banana:
