Hello,

I am following PT's FAQ with Gavs latest image but having a wee problem and I have set up the above and successfuly recorded using Dbox WinServer and can play the file back manually using VNC.

Could someone confirm the steps to take to actually playback the captured video? I have used the same folder in Dbox Winserver to record and VLC to playback just keep things simple for now.

But, I have to go into the personalisation settings to make visable the various hidden menus that make up all the options I need. After I have selected the menus I want, Nutrino has to be restarted and I loos all the settings.

Im hoping to go on and be able to playback mp3's etc. Is it possible to set up the Dbox so that I could browse all the folders on my PC to select files to playback?

Oh and one last thing, I cant find the background scanning option in the Gavs Service menu. Im not sure if this is due to the menus being hidden or whether its just not an option on this image

Any ideas folks?

Thanks

Ayns

not used Gav's image yet - but it's usually under Dbox > Services > Service Scan - the screen where u actually scan for the channels - it might be called 'Selection Scan' too

It's hidden, m8. (Gav trying to stop his Grandad scanning for pr0n, LOL!).

So go into Settings, then Personalization, then Service- and change Scan from Not Visible to Visible. Save- and Neutrino will restart.

Once you have access to that menu, you should be able to toggle Sections Scan to your choice: Off > On > On (w/o messages)

Before you try a Scan, you'll need to run Set My Location and reboot for the new settings to take effect. Until you've done that, background scanning probably won't work.

Cheers- AL :)

remember to save settings before you reboot.

Don't think you get the option to Save in SML, m8? It saves the settings automatically when you press OK on your location- then offers you the choice to reboot or not. No point in refusing the reboot- or you're back where you started, LOL!

That's why in \/+ 2.1 - I gave it an instant reboot. AL doesn't take prisoners...

He was talking about making the hidden menu's visable AL eg recording settings, if he doesn't save before he reboots they won't display lol As well as background scan. i know you told him to do it after making the scan visable just wanted to make sure he did after any changes in settings.

OK wee update.

Test 1. If I make the menu items visable and go "back" I am prompted to restart Nutrino. If I say yes to this when i go back in all the items are hidden again.

Test 2. If I make the menus visable and dont restart Nutrino and goto save settings then restart, the menus still go back to hidden.

I have tried a few variations on this but whatever I do the menuse become hidden again.

Could this be related to file permissions perhaps?

@ thebigman - you are local to me, im in Hallglen. Where you from?

Im away tae watch the Man U v Celtic game, back later

I just put Gavs image on to try the menu's, I went to personalization/settings enabled network and movie player went back no to restart back then save settings then back and reboot and they are now visible in settings.
If you still cant enable them you might have to reflash. I'm in Stenhousemuir btw.
