My 7025+ has two DVB-C for cable and 250 GB HDD.

The box also came with an access 9 Card.
I am on V*rgin Media(NTL) basic package that comes free with the phone line.

I successfully flashed it with "gemini2-300-dm7025-200708091858.nfi" image using Dreamup and null modem cable (it took 18min).

I tried flashing with *.img but DreamUp wasn't recognising/allowing nothing else except *.nfi files (aside question: anyone know why that is???)

My Dreambox is getting nothing.I see that here are some very advanced Dreambox users. Can you help me please?

I even tried plugging the Dreambox in directly into the wall (no broadband modem) and yet still I get, "N/A" showing for:
SNR, AGC and BER.

I even tried copying cables.xml file to /var/etc. Rebooting and doing an Automatic Transponder Scan again.

The box was bought from a registered reputable supplier within the UK (apparently listed with Dreambox on their site).

Please can anyone help?

The 7025 will only accept an .nfi image. You will need to load the cams and keys to this image as they are not included in most modded images. You could copy the keys from Var/Keys and Var/Scce off a 500 C or go to forums and download the CAMDS and EMU,s and install same. There is a bit of tweeking on a 7025 in order to get it working but all of the information is here on this excellent forum.....

First off; Thank you ever so much for replying so quickly to my situation.
I had no idea the 7025 would only accept nfi's. But now I do know and will no longer think there is a major in trying to flash .img's

As for downloading the CAMDS and EMU's, in which category is that available to download from? I cant seem to find it on this forum and I feel i've been looking extensively.
Does it have it's own unique section somewhere? Or is it scattered in older previous unique posts as attatchments ?

ftp to a 500c copy all the files from Var/Keys and Var/Scce . upload to 7025 same location.

Thanks laopai007.

Does anyone know if it is save to try to image my 7025+ with Dreambox images that say 500C (and generally other dm500 images?

Many thanks.

Many many many thanks to all that helped me with my initial Cablebox setup.
Ive got the basics of what I want running with my 7025+

I'll create new threads for my non-begginner queries (even though im still a begginner but you know what i mean! :D )

Alanbk, you rule. Many thanks.

For others who were in my similar predicament. I strongly urge you to check this out: https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/158062/&highlight=camd

Top notch url right there. It really should be made into a sticky IMHO - i stumbled upon it only by mere chance.

No you can not use a 500 image on a 7025. They are a completely different beast. The hardware is not even similar. 7025 uses different cpu and video processor, it has 2 ide channels and twin tuners, the list goes on.

There is another way to flash a 7025, its quicker and easier than dreamup, take a look here at the Dream website for info

The latest Gemini image is 3.2, I noticed you flashed 3.0.

Have you got it decoding channels yet? A few of us 7025 users have had problems with evocamd finding the current key but not decoding the picture.

How do access 9 cards work with cable thought they were just satellite cards???

.

Hi boncechops, i'm currently stuck with my 7025, the link you posted, there's a link on there how to manually apply an IP address, is there any other way do it or do you HAVE to have a serial cable, i've only got an ethernet crossover cable, my laptop doesn't have a serial port.

I just posted in your other thread. I just read the Dream website and see that you really need a DHCP server.

How do you connect your laptop to the internet? Do you use a wireless router or a modem. If you use a wireless router then you will be able to connect the dreambox to a network port on the router. The router will then assign an IP address to the Dreambox via DHCP
