I had this a long time back when trying to write a ROM card and did a lot of searching and tried all sorts of fixes none of which worked. The only way i could get around this issue was to use a different PC which worked a treat. Used the same software, card reader, settings etc just a different PC, (i think there was something mentioned about voltages ) but it worked.
hope this helps....

Its actually means that the card failed to respond properly to a Set IFS command (Set IFS basically sets the maximum packet size for communications to/from the card).

This is one of the most basic commands that the card understands and is usually sent to the card immediately after the card resets and transmits its ATR (Answer to reset) message.

If a card isn't responding properly to this message then its usually because there is a communications problem between the PC and the card, mostly in packet transmission from the PC (Reception is working because you got the ATR). 75% of the time this is because you are attempting to use a USB/Serial converter from a portable (or a PC that doesn't have a proper serial port).

hi m8 try ather comy port i mene if u are uesing port 1 try 2 or3

Been covered many times, its basically a communication error, im going to assume you are using infinity progger and using their latest app which is 2.7 I think. I had this problem for ages when I was using 2.6 but then went back to 2.5 and it worked fine. I might have the version numbers wrong but basically just try getting older version and it should work.

sorted

hi guys thanks for all the help it was a comunication fault but with all the advice given its now sorted ..thanx again....or your right it is a infinity proggy i'm using
