tm 1500ci, a good choice as many on this site use one. Also a very user friendly box with lots of support on this forum.

patching

do u need to patch first onto the receivers or can u enter keys manually and they still work??? and if u do need to patch it where do you get the patch from!

ok install the patch first, the loader is posted in the pack in post 1 and heres a link to the latest patch i can find, its still working...
https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/134896/

Just connect your box to your pc with null cable, open the loader and then on the browse select the patch you dowloaded in my link(obviously you need to unrar the files first)

Let the patching finish then connect your box up and you can manually enter the keys for the packages you require. To do this press mute on the remote control followed by the "exit" button, and this brings up the keys menu. You need to select the relavent slot for polsat(its in the 40's i think). It will have polsat written below and nagravision as the encryption. Just enter the keys, you'll see how this is obvious and when your finished, press exit again and save. polsat should now be working. You can do this with cabo to on 30 degrees west and digi tv on 1 degree west, they show epl too!

Thinking of getting a technomate - would be obliged if any one could direct me - ie. complete novice - where / who would be the best supplier, starting from scratch - for receiver and all the gear, pole - dish - motor, thanks in advance for any directions and help.

Hi

I've just bought the TM1600 for £79 but have just realised that the TM 1500 would have been the better option. Is the TM1600 capable of doing all the things the TM1500.

Thanks

Probably because newbies do not appear to be allowed to download information until we've posted 20 messages. Can sort of understand it but to be honest i don't have enough knowledge of all this to be able to post discussions so am unlikely to post 20 times. The help files therefore are not much use to me personally.

However, i could donate but forums are all about the guys who know what they are talking about sharing their knowledge. They love doing that and solving technie probs - it's like their own little chatroom.
I've found this site essential so far and will support it - so will keep searching in my quest to understand cable receivers for Sky digital users.

a cable receiver will never be of any use to a sky digital user m8, the hardware involved in the tuners is totally different, the signals and frequencies used are worlds apart, the security is different (sky uses NDS, the most secure PPV encryption known to man)

the only way to view sky digital is via a paid subscription

Cheer's mate just got my tm1500 not got it out the box yet so Im sure this will help...
