EDIT: UPDATED TUTORIAL....

OK for some reason I had that method working yesterday but now it's not? hmmm weird, so here's how to do it manually....

Get a text editor such as ULTRAEDIT - that is compatible with linux files.

Ftp to your box and get one of your Bouquet files - dreambox 600 is (etc/enigma)

open it with ultraedit and paste this in:

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

That will add the missing porn channels - you will need to refresh the box for the new bouquet to kick in - by pasting this into a web browser-

http://192.168.1.147/cgi-bin/reloadSettings
http://192.168.1.147/cgi-bin/reloadUserBouquets

(change 192.168.1.147 to your own box ip).

Doing it this way will stop your channels automatically deleting themselves.

Note: Transponder Details and channels are different for certain UK areas - a local dbox2 services file from your area will give you the correct details.

Example:
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

This uses transponder 6 and the channel address is 624 - that's the info you need to get from a dbox2 services file.

Tutorial Updated - due to channels deleting themselves automatically.

Why do channels delete themselves automatically like that?

Because the dreambox in enigma auto scans by default m8 - when it doesn't find a channel on a certain transponder it removes it from your services file - what I have posted in the first post puts the channel in bouquets - and it isn't in the services file so it can't be deleted that way.

Cheers mrdude, your info and hard work are very much appreciated here :)

I would say, from a neutral-ish point of view, that the Dreambox is not the step up from the DBOX that some claim it to be :)

I would dissagree m8, I have a dm600 and it boots the arse out of the dbox I used to own - my dbox crashed every other day - the images were nothing like some of the images available for the dreambox, apart from missing certain channels on scanning I would say the dreambox is much better, especially when it comes to organising services & bouquets via the remote control.

Have you seen enigma 2 software running on a dreambox 600 yet? it's awsome m8 and has some wicked features, I will be doing an image using that cvs soon and it will add loads more features to the dreambox 600 most people haven't seen yet.

As for the 500 - generally once people sort the cable feed out to the box it runs pretty good and doesn't crash like the dboxes do, around here where I live people are constantly getting pissed off when virgin change channel frequencies as they need to get a computer dude to re-arrange the channels for them - with a dreambox it's very simple via remote control.

Yup, all good points mate, very well made :)

What worries me at the moment is, with this missing channels bug, what happens if more and more channels are transmitted or rather identified in a different way - like those that are missing are at the moment?

Or what happens when the missing channels move to other "missing" frequencies and one does not have a dbox to hand to enable the discovery of where they've shifted to?

It'll end up where we have to add a load of channels manually to the images - and that can't be good can it? :)

yes well put mrdude but cant we get the scanning like the dbox eg set my location with the netids put in the cvs?

When doing this to Enigma files do I add them to servies or boquetes?

And with ultraedit do I convert them to DOS format?

Thx

NO - that's the whole point of using it m8. Dos is a windows app & you need to keep the files in a linux format.

ok thx.

Still not gettin 100% babes in my all services list. Must be doing something wrong. I'm adding them to services file is that right?

No you don't need to add them to the services files m8, only to a user bouquet file that you already have.

How does the box know where to look for the channel if it's not in the services file?

You can have no userbouquet files at all and still access the channels from the All Services screen.

not sure but adding them to the userboq's worked 1st time.

So, you've added the line for 100% Babes into the userbouquet file but not the services file? Or have you added it to both?

Just in userboq's m8. Not in both.

Are there any others I can add like this that a scan wont pickup? The PPV events?
