I am sick of people flying up to the back of my car on the motorway and flashing there lights like they think they own the roads or something. I give some one a little nudge today and they didnt half take the knock !! Just teaching them a little lesson in manners. My car will do over 100 mph but the limit is 70mph for a reason !! Anyways I feel a little relieved now so I am going to play MOTO GP 06 on the XBOX 360 !! Thanks for reading my rants !!

i admit i speed sometimes but i hate people who do this, ill dleiberatley slow to 70 along side another car just to piss em off lol.

about 3 years ago id had a STINKING day in work and was coming home on a dual carriagway and could see this car flying up behind me, i was doing about 75-80 and there was no way i could have pulled in, hes about 4 meters from me and starts flashing his lights, one snotty looking dude in a suit in a mondeo, i can go nowhere, he must have been inches from me and still flashing, i wasnt going to speed up for this 2@. i can see him swearing his head off in the mirror so i turn my lights on to make the lights come on on the back and make him think theyre break lights and pull back. i see him in the mirror call me a word that i really hate along with lots of other colourfull words.

i slam on the brakes at 70 mph, rip up the handbrake at about 35 and stop the car on its nose. i swear the guy pissed his pants, he went so white i cant describe how white he was how he didnt slam into the back of me ill never know. cars stopped next to us as they thought it had been an accident and this guy gets out of the car shaking and pulls out a fookin badge, copper!!!

i went nuts, he was on his way home and said i was driving like a nutter, i told him i drove defensivley and had noted his number and after he calmed down a bit we were both on our way

but i also hate being flashed,

so never flash anything silver with ladders on the roof, it might be me, and you might end up in my boot and paying lots of compo for whiplash and loss of earnings etc and loseyour no claims bonus lol

A 40 year old outdated reason. My van will do over a 100 and I happily cruise around the 90mph mark, be it dual carriageway or motorway. Speed does not kill, but this idiotic practice of people driving bumper to bumper does and the sooner police nick these people instead of speeders the better, but I guess a static camera can't catch this.......

Sorry m8, but your driving is just as dangerous as his.

If you were out in the third lane then YOU are at fault - people think they can cruise along at 70mph and be perfectly in the right - The 3rd lane is for passing, not hogging.

I can travel 20 miles to work stuck behind a jam of asswipes travelling in the 3rd lane while the other 2 lanes are empty - now that IS bad driving.

Yes we all know you should not be travelling faster than 70mph but let me decide what speed I will go and get the hell over to the correct lane.

lanes 2 and 3 r only for overtaking lane 1 is for driving

I live this nightmare every morning and evening - a line of cars as far as the eye can see, trundling along in the outside lane...

Agrees with fagan. but when im on the motorway im usually around the 80mark, 70 is too bloody slow. if the left lane is clear i stay there but otherwise its the right lane and usually im overtaking ppl so im right to be in the right lane its just common sense. but then u get a p*at coming behing u in his little corsa who just passed his test, u move over to let him pass and he takes FOREVER to pass you and 100 meters down the lane ur just overtaking him anyway.

AND MIDDLE LANE HOGGERS!! AND VAN DRIVERS!! (women drivers too)

I never had anyone flash "lights" at me, but what annoys me is when some little banger comes up behind you and gets way too close... Always happens in crappy cars I just put my foot down until their little banger is a speck of dust in my rear mirror :) I have no choice and I dont see the reason for them getting so close even if I go into another lane its not as if they can overtake me without their engine blowing up... Have a convertible CLK 320 now and have been raced by little red Micra's... I know exactly what you mean Devil666

Also hate it when girls flash you on the motorway, there was a really hot group of girls in a bus next to us a few weeks ago, they flashed us and it was soooo frustrating that we couldnt even get a number or anything, all we could do was slow to 50 on the motorway to get a good look... :(

I used to get really annoyed with motorway driving here and people's general driving attitudes... that was until I drove in Spain and France and now every time I come back from there it seems like everyone is going too slow and being too polite!

Anyone who has driven abroad will know that they never move over to let you onto a motorway (yes I know you have to give way by law but at least here the majority have that "I’ll help you out if I can" factor). Also flashing there means you've done something really bad which I did not realise the first time I drove in France and caused a right kafuffle! In Spain they are always driving really really close to you, they park wherever they want and have no regard for zebra crossings. It makes me laugh that considering it has one of the worst accident rates in europe and terrible driving standards they have additional stringent regulations like "you must carry a florescent vest in your car in case you break down at night". I think they need to focus on the standard of the driving test there before worrying about silly fluorescent clothing and spare bulb kits!

I truely HATE people who sit in the middle/outer lanes on a motorwayand seem to think it's ok to coast along at 65-70 especially if i'm on the bike. If you aren't overtaking get your veichle where it should be, it's actually an offence and you can be fined up to 2.5k and have 6-9 points added to your licence iirc (same class as driving without due care and attention but slightly different wording).

I'm often found undertaking people simply because I am doing the speed limit in the inside lane and every idiot and his/her dog was sat in the outside lanes doing less than 70 on a motorway. Mandatory driving tests every 10 years uptill 60 and then every 5 years sounds like a good idea right about now. May reduce the number of idiots who think fog lights are supposed to be used because the drivers are blind/stupid.

I'm with you on that! There are too many people who have never looked at the highway code since they passed their test and have made-up a new highway code in their head which justifies their crap driving habits. One of the biggest problems is that drivers don't get tested on motorways, once they pass their test they should be made to do another test for motorway driving before they are allowed on one.

lol, I got beeped at so much on the high speed roads in France... Never going there again, I got so far till I realised I was in the wrong lane, I was driving on the right side of the road but I think their overtake lane is on the left??? If its not then I dont know what they where beeping at...

I thought they where going to start testing people on the motorways thats what I was told when I was taking my test 2 years ago, but no one mentioned it since...

I try to keep in the middle lane and only overtake in the third lane, I cant keep to the first lane because its just filled with trucks and caravans and old folk going at 25mph

alot of jams are caused by people who just cruise in lane 2 and 3 - overtake and move in!

I think they should raise speed limit to 90mph and teach motoway driving - at least the overtaking principle.

why do people think that when on a dual carriageway that if your in the right hand lane and people seem to think i have to move over, its not a motorway!!
Its 2 lanes both restricted by the speed limit, lots of people believe its a slow lane for left and overtaking for the right, please read the highway code ffs

Although your correct, you could argue that you stick to 70 on all lanes of motorway, you are wrong. Lane one is driving, lane 2 is overtaking...

Wonder how long it would take you to get pulled over if you kept on right lane sticking at 70 ;)
