Virgin Media - What deals you got? 2022

We are paying £17 a month with a £6 increase next month. Not sure whether to phone up and say we are cancelling to see if they freeze the price. Contract is up in August.

As others have said - I just rang up and said I was leaving because of the price increase ; straight away the operator offered me a discount of £7.00. My bill has gone down to £24, but will go up to £31 in May (the price I was paying when I rang up).

It was a very easy phone call..

Did you ring on this 08009522277 or 150 on house phone ?

I rang 0800 number and wait for the option of moving or leaving. Rang at 1 ish and got a Gordie guy answering.
My wife did the same but rang in the evening but spoke to someone with a foreign accent.

I just phoned them and went to retentions. My contract ends Feb 2024 so I agreed on a £1.50 price rise per month as apposed to the £9 a month until my contract ends.
I could have gone full submarine tight and argued for the full amount but truth be known, I just couldn't be bothered.
Oh forgot,
Even if you can't be bothered going through the leaving process or speaking to anyone at Virgin there's an automated message press 1 to accept a £4:50 increase as opposed to a £9 and that's without discussing it.

You have my deepest sympathy

I think I'll ring this morning, hope I don't get a BehEddie - Murderer loving barbaric state endorsing Mag (rant over), can you tell I don't like them. LOL.

Your first call will be with an 'overseas' operator ; it you stick to the " I am cancelling " line, the next call back will be from the 'Retentions' team who are all UK based

Regarding which phone number I used -- just rang 150 from my home phone..

Well my contract runs out soon was paying £40 for phone line and broadband 100mb with discount , proper bill would be £51 just phoned them up on 150 number and going to get it now for £35 and upgraded my router straight away to 250mb , will be able to download my backup pc games faster now 🤣

You can Stick Virgin where the sun don't shine !!
I'm on 1 Gig Full Fibre Broadband and Home Phone (Now through Voip) Unlimited calls all for £39.99 (for 2 years with no increases) and that is the latest increased prices !
With a Brilliant IP called No One Internet. Virgin gave all sorts of problems while trying to port my old home phone number, new IP kept me fully up to date with what was happening and when Virgin wanted certain verification methods new IP even supplied formats for me to e-mail. Most of my communication was through e-mail as this was my stated preferred method, however at the beginning I did speak to the lady who dealt with my case and she was as charming as she was efficient and professional.

My deal ends on 5th august with virgin so I can move from the 5th of July, I mentioned earlier in this thread cityfibre installing infrastructure around my area, dont think they will be ready for July now,
I currently pay £25 a month for 200MB and land line, would want something similar or I will be off, I'd be interested what deal others have with virgin ATM, just so I can haggle with them at the time, thanks lads.

They did the same trick to us last time so my first wife phoned and cancelled and the retention team called my wife a couple of days later and asked why was she cancelling.
She explained that she had been promised a price then received a higher price on the new contract so the guy apologised and told her that we could have a new contract for £17 a month on the M125 package.
Which we are still currently on and ends in August.
I think we are going to cancel this time and wait for a call back and if we don’t receive one, I will just sign up in my name. Hope you get it sorted.

Well phoned and they said it was a discount for 1 month , so now iv just got a 18 contract for 40 and back down to 100mb and email to confirm. Not saving that much but better than 51 a month mmmmm sneaky fookers !!!

If I I go into my virgin media account I get offer of £41 for my package on 18 month contract , then price goes to £70 monthly, at the moment I pay £39 for 100 mb ,anytime phone and mixit TV.
Contract up for renewal August.

Got 14 days cooling-off period for contract will ring them on the 800 number later on today and see if i can get a better deal by taking off the landline as i never use it
