How's about less holidays for a start, just had Easter there off again then summer few weeks off.

Give them pay rise as well while they’re at it. Seems to be a lot of kids carrying knives nowadays and seem to be using them as well.

I think you would have a different perspective if you had to work in an inner-city secondary school tbh.
I don’t live in a city but I live near a secondary school and some of the kids act and sound like a real challenge.
The kids now are not allowed to leave the school premises at lunchtime anymore, due to the fact they were causing havoc at the local shops shoplifting and being abusive. Can only imagine what they’re like in school.

Alot can mean a tonne of different things. I think you'll find only a tiny proportion of kids carry knives.Give them pay rise as well while they’re at it. Seems to be a lot of kids carrying knives nowadays and seem to be using them as well.
There are still a good few decent kids knocking about you know.
Too much schooling has been missed and we're on about pumping in 100's of millions into a catchup scheme but they still get 20+ weeks off a year?.

He is so wrong and yes it’s getting boring. My Daughter and my son in law are both teachers and they more than earn every penny they get and earn every day they get as time off.Give it a rest. Besides being wrong, it's just getting boring.

Facts are kids are playing catch up and still have the same hols.
Teachers get 20 weeks+ a year off and decent pay in comparison to a lot of people.
Now if I was in a job I basically couldn't stand, hated it, stressed I'd change jobs. Or is it a case of
"Not a bad number this"

Legally state rune schools have to be open for 39 weeks or the year, 5 days can be inset days (staff training days) so that means the kids are in school for 38 weeks, so now you think that the teachers get 20 weeks holiday, how many weeks do you think are in a year?

Sorry my apologies its actually 16 weeks a year not 20 it's only 4 months, anyway my main gripe is how I started the thread which was about kids not getting enough schooling too many Holidays especially now playing catch up.
Teachers getting 4 months off a year is another subject.

Obviously your school only was open 31 weeks a year with teachers doing an extra week in training as you cannot calculate that teachers work (at school) 39 weeks in the year so have 13 weeks off and when I say off not in the class room they still do a lot of other stuff
