Solo2 Jtag

The driver is installed when you install Broadband Studio.
I'm using Win7 64 myself without issue.
Do Not install any drivers from the Cypress / Broadband Studio website as these will overwrite the ones in the BBS3 jtag software and stop BBS3 working.

If you have already installed other drivers not from the BBS3 jtag software, removing the drivers at this stage doesn't appear to help as windows will just reinstall the wrong drivers the next time you connect.

All I can suggest is to use system restore to restore to a time before you installed BBS3 and the wrong drivers.

The reason we get this problem is our Cypress Boards are Fake and the updated drivers recognizes this and the device is put in an "üninitilaze" state, at least that's how i remember it.

The correct install procedure is

1 install broadbandstudio3.msi (you will receive a Driver Unsigned Warning, just click install anyway)
2 install Bcm97346.msi (Do Not run Setup)

I've just installed it myself on a clean Win7 64 machine without issue

The point is,what I realized now that I bought a clone cypress board for repear my clone vu solo2 :)
The adventure is not finished... :(
In this case probably this board can't use the boardband studio for JTAG..

I'm sure we all use the Chinese Clone Cypress boards Cypress FX2 CYC68013A
A genuine one would be expensive.

I've got 2 of them and both work just fine.

I have wasted several hours trying to get the drivers working myself so know how annoying it is

If you have a different PC / laptop handy, just start again from the beginning, it should work just fine.

I've just done it myself.

I found the drivers from the buyer site and this item is a Saleae chinese version.
It is working with the logic analyzer what is included but doesn't work with boardband studio 3.
I bought this one:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/272507778774?ul_noapp=true

I'm totaly lost how can I install the right driver, at the moment shown "unknow device".

Yup, it's the same as one of mine, works just fine no drivers necessary but the ones included in BBS3
But if you have, Or have had the wrong drivers already installed you are fighting a losing battle, I eventually just gave up, reinstalled windows and it worked 1st time.

Think I removed the jumper furthest from the SDA SDL pins though, but it was a while ago

Also, Install BBS3 before connecting Your JTAG board

I've just used these files successfully

To my knowledge, nobody has successfully repaired via jtag.
After replacement of the TC58NVGOS3ETA00
You can Jtag, then flash via USB as normal

To be honest, chip replacement is not easy, it requires specialist equipment and experience,
You may be better off trying to find someone equipped and experienced to do it for you.

Having said that, I had no experience until my 1st attempt, I've done a dozen or so now. (not all successfully though)

Do you know anybody where can I get and download the bbs_bcm97346.msi file ?

Here you go..

Hi
I need to jtag my Solo2 after mistakenly putting a v4 image on a v2 box and bricked it (again)I have already had this repaired once a few years ago and had the chip replaced

I have followed the guide and the 1st thing i got stuck on is there is no BCM USB in the zip file which is mentioned in the pdf guide. I connected my cypress board and in windows 10 it couldn't find any drivers so i had to download them from cypress website.

when running broadcom studio 3 all i get is disconnected.I also noticed my cypress board is slightly different to the one in the guide

I also wondered as my chip has been replaced before will it still work with this if its not a broadcom? this is a pic of my chip

So im wondering do i need to install windows XP for the driver thing? can i run a XP VM machine to do this?
Also my cypress board looks like the 3.3v and ground are in different places and marked VCC on my board will this still work?
And lastly can i jtag my box after my chip has been replaced?

If you have put a v4 image on a v2 box the chance of jtagging working is very remote. even it the nand has been previously changed.

BCM USB is not needed as the drivers are built into the studio3 software.
If you have installed drivers from the broadcom website you will not get your jtag board working, the broadcom drivers will identify your jtag board as a Chinese Clone and disable it.

I did this myself and never managed to fix the issue without reformatting my PC and starting over.

all the files needed are here

I have used the same jtag board (2 jumper) as you have to successfully flash the bootloader onto a new blank nand IC

regarding it working with your box, Broadcom make the processor and toshiba / samsung make the nand flash IC's, this is normal

as for connecting your board, you only use Ground, SCL and SDA as your board is powered via the usb port

I wish you luck but don't expect jtag to work, you will probably get the "bad block" error just as everybody else has.

Hi
im not getting anywhere with the cypress board on a fresh install of XP
ive installed broadcom studio 3 yet im still getting unknown hardware when i plug it in
the guide says to just select automatically find drivers but doesnt work for me?
how can i manually install drivers for it on XP?

are you using a Virtual Machine, maybe it's that or perhaps windows doesn't supply drivers online anymore for it's unsupported OS. Give 7 another go is all i can suggest.
Plus Don't run Setup but the .msi files
