PDF Complete was installed on laptop and recently the trial has expired (I didn't even know it was a trial lol)
It put a banner in top left corner of all PDF files that is bloody annoying :Angryfire

I've uninstalled it and installed a free one called Foxit

But the PDF Complete banner is still there :Chainsaw: I've done a search and there are a few out there the same as me but Ive found no real answers to remove this

Any of you guys had this and managed to remove it or can help find something I cant ?

Thanks :)

Rat

Sounds like ransomware!

Don't suppose you have Shadowcopy/previous versions enabled @Rat?

I found quite a few people having this "accidental" issue related to "certain builds" of the software using various searches.

Any use?

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

Only install software with "Enterprise" in the title ;), or maybe opensource stuff :).

Dont think so @Spectre

Ive tried a few things and nothing removes it, even on new PDF files I receive as soon as I open them bang its there again

still searching for a solution lol

searched registry and nothing comes up with pdf complete
searched pdf and 1 file comes up but that might be for the new pdf programme I'm using ?

Im going to try installing complete again and finding it in registry and uninstaling it again

I dont know just trying it lol

I installed it again
uninstalled as per there instructions

removed 1 folder in registry
rebooted

still there lol

tbh the laptop could do with a format so I think this is the route I will take sometime soon

Thanks for all your advice though guys much appreciated :)

They are embedded in the PDF, if you send a PDF to someone the banner will still be there when they open it.

It will go when I format though

its something on my laptop right ?

According to what I've read it is in the PDF itself. PM a PDF to me and I'll see if it is there.

Edit @Rat

I just had a quick go with PDF-XChange Editor free edition and you can delete the banner, couldn't select the transparent box that is the clickable link but I think it would be possible to delete both objects using a full PDF editor.

Yeah I have been playing and managed to remove the banner but it left a black box outline

Im doing as you said getting a full version and will try that :)

It's a form used to contain the clicky link. I just deleted it with Acrobat X so I imagine Acrobat Pro can do more :).

Edit

Deleted the form in Acrobat X then deleted the picture in PDF-XChange Editor but I just have the trial so it has saved with new banners LOL.

Acrobat Professional should sort it.

Yeah full version lets me delete banner :)

But when I opened a PDF from a email the banner is still there :err: so I still have to edit and save
something is on laptop that still shows this banner ?

Have you tried reinstalling Acrobat Reader?

I don't know how it is doing that unless it has modified some files it shouldn't have.

Yes @Spectre
just uninstalled it and installed again and still the same

Im wondering its either something on the laptop that hasnt fully uninstalled or its in the email attachments that Im being sent
in which case even if I formatted the emails with pdfs will still come in the same
:err:

But I do think its my send as this was installed on my laptop
