A: The box is bricked, you need JTAG to recover bootloader
#3 Bootloader update
Update to version CFE Air Digital will brick the tuner if it is a clone!!
So in first step you should update boot loader to version J-CFE V0.5 (this operation is safe) than to version CFE AirDigital if you need it.
download J-CFE 0.5 or latest CFE bootlaoder from Air Digital
copy CFE.BIN to root of USB stick
insert USB to tuner
start CFE console (Step
#2 )
flash CFE
Code: [Select]
flash usbdisk0:/CFE.BIN flash0.cfe
reboot
check if the tuner is a clone
#5
#4 Image update
download any image and unzip it
copy kernel.BIN and rootfs to root (/) of USB stick
insert USB to tuner
start CFE console (Step
#2 )
flash new image
Code: [Select]
flash -forceerase usbdisk0:/kernel.bin nandflash0.kernel
flash -forceerase usbdisk0:/rootfs.bin nandflash0.rootfs
reboot
#5 Is my iBox genuine?
update bootloader to version J-CFE v0.5 (Step

J-CFE 0.5 support both kernel: 3.6 and 3.12
check this:
root@ibox2:~# cat /proc/mtd
dev: size erasesize name
mtd0: 1f900000 00020000 "rootfs"
mtd1: 20000000 00020000 "entire_device"
mtd2: 00600000 00020000 "kernel" <- 060000 => new bootloader , old has only 00400000 for kernel
mtd3: 00080000 00010000 "cfe"
mtd4: 00200000 00010000 "splash"
Copex has answered your question re the sat/cable.
You have to configure both tuners. For example set up tuner a as dvbs and sly uk (and your area) and scan then set up autoboquets which will put the sat channels into sly order if you want. Then tuner B set up for vm but you will need to choose your correct net id and frequency and scan. Once scanned set up autoboquets which afain will set them up in vm order. The cable boquets will be after the sat boquets.
It may be better on your box but on mine I had to manually scan frequencies automatic scan was producing a nil return but I think this is all image dependent.
Good luck.
