ok

my DM800se id running BDuk 1.1 which is running sweet, well today i have tried to change my USB from a 4gb to 16gb stick, i format the stick plug it in box, initialize drive, copy over pic icon's load epg and it wont work, where im i going wrong, everytime i reboot it green screens.

Ive talked him through everything I did with mine and it still wont work and green screens on him :err:

the box see the usb and he can FTP to it but just wont show picons

I got him to check the path was set correct in cool tv guide and it is so should show up in there at the very least

The log is showing an error no space left on device, are you sure the USB stick is mounted? Go to a telnet prompt and type the command:

mount

which will show you exactly what's mounted, then run the command:

df -k

this will show you the used/available space for all mounted filesysystem, then post the output of both here

it not one of them cheap chinese ones that fake the file size is it ?

I think it's referring to the space on the flash which is why I was asking if the USB was mounted or not. The other thing is could be is that the mount folder, say /media/usb will already exist regardless if the USB is correctly mounted or not, if you then copy files to this folder you are in fact copying the files to the flash. If you then mount the USB the files copied over to the mount point will still be there occupying space.

Hopefully the output of the 2 commands I asked for should tell us one way or the other.

So if he has filled the flash is it a reflash image job or can it be cleaned up?

If what's happened is as I've described then you could unmount the USB, then check the folder to see if there are any files present, tidy up and then remount the USB.

If you're using an OpenPLi based image and haven't added an entry to /etc/fstab then you can simply pull the USB stick out and it should get unmounted automatically. If you've added an entry in /etc/fstab then use the command:

umount /media/usb

change /media/usb to whatever the mount point/folder is.

im not sure what you are on about to be honest m8, im not the clued up on DM800se never had one before this is all new to me :)

so /dev/root is 99% full and only has 640k of free space left, looks like this may be the cause of the problem.

What you need to do is unmount the hdd and usb in turn, then check the folders /media/hdd and /media/usb in turn to see if they contain anything. So issue the command:

umount /media/usb

then check the folder /media/usb, if there are files confirm that the usb has been unmounted using the 'df -k' command /media/usb shouldn't appear, then remove any files in the folder. Repeat for /media/hdd.

This should hopefully free up the space on the flash.

If you have any problems with the above then issue the command 'init 4' to stop enigma2 before trying to do the umount, after you've done the above issue the command 'init 3' to restart enigma2

This happens to me sometimes, I have to reflash the box as I can never find any files to delete.

Did you have crossepg installed?

looks like a reflash is in order to fix it, because what your telling me is going over my head :(

my /dev/root is only 73% so I would agree this is more then likely the problem,
but I think a reflash may be in order if the advice above does not reduce the /dev/root/ percentage

Is there many plugins installed?

Then I would think either some recordings or epg has been saved to the internal flash,

In the DBUK menu under the blue button if you can access the device manager (I think its called that),you can unmount both the hard drive and usb, then you can check both media/hdd and media/usb for any files and delete them, then use the device manager to remount the HDD and the usb,

It just depends on how competent you are m8,a reflash may seem easier to you although they can sometimes not go the way you want either lol

to be totaly honest i have no idea what your on about so im going to try and flash it next week when kids back in school. no way dare i try it with them running round the house.
