Tm800hd 14/6/11

in my opinion best ever today
you tend to say that a lot though :err:
you may think Im picking on you ? Im not, Im a fed up owner that has been fed excuses, lies and whatever else in the past
you can look back through your own posts and read how many times you have said this is the best and how this works and that works (for you) and it dont work for the forum members

there is only so much people can take being strung along before they think enough is enough, and thats how I feel now after 13 months, if only we all had a box that was a clone of yours we would all be happy

I would like to make one more point here, and I am not having a dig at anyone.

But I have done everything to the letter this time round and have previously admitted when I had not and my results changed.

The forums are about others that may be able to help you solve a problem.

Just to say there is no problem is a little unfair, all we want is some help to solve the problems that we may have, without buying different hard drive etc

One member earlier did this with the channel change, which my good friend the DR has not mentioned, yet everyone had the same issue

im back.......right then

how my last few weeks have been trouble free from my vu+ duo....i love it!!

anyway, i gave the door stop to my parents and this weekend i am going round there to put some sort of image on it, i got a 250gb hard disk (from sky hd box) i will be putting this into a hard drive enclosure to make it usb, this will then go into the technomate (does it matter witch usb port i use??)
also which image shall i try? the 1st iQ image or this newer image?

kind regards
Shakin

I found myself about to go into one but instead I think I will sample some of tm's red carpet treatment AGAIN this week and come back with a perfectly working box just like Dr Linuxs.

But I have done everything to the letter this time round and have previously admitted when I had not and my results changed.

You're wasting your breathe mate. Unfortunately no matter what happens, Dr Linux thinks we are all dragging out knuckles on the floor and we can't fallow plain English (or near as damn it in this case). Many of us have followed to the letter over the last 12 months but I guess we're all doing something wrong......... either that or he seems to have selected reading

Well i want a box that works properly so i want Dr Linux to be right. If we are all proved idiots so be it. Only one way to find out so I think I will pay TM a visit as they aren't too far away. If my box comes back no better at least i will know who is talking s***.

I urge you to do that mate, because I will be quite happy to spend £50 of my companys money on fuel this weekend to get mine working - if you results are good

On the other hand I dont want to waste 5 hours of my weekend if it dont work - will you PM me with your results either way

Cheers

PS, I want Dr linux to sometimes admit he is wrong, and tell us the steps thats going to happen to make it right, because we cant all be stupid on here

well i have been testing this new image for a couple of hours now and it works flawless for me, maybe its the way i hold my mouth lol

Good on you mate, I want to be in the same position

What exact setup do you have ie internal HDD, HD Channels etc

@damienhealey when you planning on going for your red carpet treatment?

well ill be getting the red carpet treatment on friday after that comment, cos im fitting two satellites in essex and calling in to see them in person on the way back, just to see how there setup is and how well it is running, i just think its like anything, spend i little bit more time on things and not things get the better of you, sometimes we see a new image and think this is it and jump straight into it, to be honest tho i do think the instructions could of been a little bit better, like try plugging your machine in first lol

I must be thick, because I aint gotta clue what you mean!!!!!

After my post toomany posts cretisising and making lots of comments.:proud:
OK.
you are correct in what your are saying:Clap:
>>SO>>
what is it that my test is ok but yours is not :proud:
1-any image before 31-05 had old core had problem or not is in the past if few members are using past as reference to new core that is 100% wrong as their information not correct about new core source files .
Why my test is positive few of you getting wrong it is as easy as A/B/C

A-Download the image from download centre and un zip it.Now where else.
B- Use only mini root download nothing else
C-fallow Wizard all the way trough .use all defaults do not use anything outside blue button do not add anything's.
OFF/ON from rear that's all >> now use it with no problems as I am using..

if you are not getting what I am getting
1-you are not fallowing A/B/C
2-You might have hardware problem
3-you might have corrupted image re download from download centre and re do mini root
4-go to tm in Edmonton or send to tm to fix it for you.

what I have done or doing using it as Joe bloges user not as advanced Linux expert to try to create green screen or prove a point.
simply fallowing instruction with out thinking I am the best I can you can not.
I did say tm800 is ok I am still saying same as I believe we know a weakness of tm800 and strength then learn how to use and make a best of it.
even in the past my test at the time was Joe blogs test not advanced.as a trusted beta tester at any test I did I stood by me test
as I am doing now.
I am so confused why I get positive good working test result some of you can not even start.

I think all you having problem instead of wasting time in this forum sending email to tm making sure an engineer is stand by to fix all your problems once for all.please remember tm is not a micky mouse company they will fix whatever problem you have I believe in their service,
I will ask tm to open on Sunday if possible only for all members to bring their boxes and engineer will test one by one and fix all of them in front of you.

Finally according to all of you I am wrong what is it that
kingsofsat is saying nothing wrong please explained as you do not believe me so can you believe kingsfast.
or just fallow A/B/C
Please I am not here to waste my time and yours it is all to do with how you install it
its so easy I can not believe all these fuss it drivers me knots.A/B/C SO easy so easy so easy
Finally if all of you believe I am lying and making up story please go to tm direct let them to fix all your problems .

nice to hear mate, personally i aint even seen a TM800 in flesh but messed about with a lot of linux boxes. i got an ipbox 9000 that was a major coont for years to get right trying every little thing, glad to see some peeps will persevere while others cant be arsed

Only just seen this thread but wont be able to test until probably friday. I will see if the hype is actually been worth the wait. I know how annoying the problems have been and will give a full review based on my latest experience until then I will enjoy reading what has been said so far.

rickie_20
fallow A/B/C
I can not belive how easy it is
i am going crazy reading all these fuss

thats just it mate, this box has only been out for 12 months and tm are doing the best to get the software right, dreambox has taken 20 yrs and still isnt the best, then you get the ones slagging the box to bits cos it aint 1000% working to there liking, sell ya tm and buy a dreambox like a boeing 747, 30 yrs out of date get with the times and giv tm a break

Dr,

few liitle points I would like to say:

Possitive:

1. Picture quality is superb
2. Ease of use is great
3. Tidy looking box

Negitive:

1: Followed instructions and getting sync issues on some channels (not all)
2: Hard Drive not working (Suppiled and fitted @ HQ)
3: HD Volume is still too low

Thats 3 for 3.

For me to go to HQ is 4+ hours traveling plus whatever time is spent there, which is not ideal

if everyone has the same results as you then I have a hardware issue which I am sure TM will sort.

but answer this simple one in straight honest terms... what changed in the first IQ image to the 2nd IQ image in regards to internal sata???

as soon as I reload the old image the hard drive is back alive - the new image I have not yet seen it (the hard drive that is)

The only way it didnt work on the IQ 31/5 image was if I rebooted enigma only, rather than a full reboot

maybe I am missing something, and will admit it when it if pointed out to me.

However I can ensure you it is not the way I followed the install instructions, because after my problems the last time - WHICH WERE MY FAULT, I dont make that same mistake again.
