Seizure of thousands of illegal satellite decoders

On Tuesday 22nd March 2011 Sudbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team in conjunction with Brent Trading standards, the premier league and Sky TV executed a search warrant under the trades description act at an address in Barham Close, Sudbury. The warrant was obtained by Brent Trading standards in relation to illegal satellite decoder cards. At the same time a business premises connected to this address was also searched in Willesden Lane, Kilburn by Mapesbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team.

The searches resulted in two suspects being arrested for fraud related matters and thousands of illegal satellite decoders, counterfeit clothing and cash being seized. They have been bailed pending enquiries.

Sergeant Pete Goodchild from Sudbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: "This was an excellent piece of partnership working between two Safer Neighbourhoods Teams wards, Brent council and other outside agencies. We will continue to reduce crime on Sudbury Ward and improve the standard of life for the residents of Brent."

So it's confirmed by an official source now...looks like all the "shop fire" stuff was all fabricated by DM crew then to try and cover up what happened.

If you google the shop the address is "84 Willesden Lane, Kilburn
London, NW6 7AT" ...

So is the DM unwell stuff all more fabrication and lies then....probably...cant trust any information from the DM crew...

Looks like theres major clampdown going on across the boarrd...Starview a few weeks ago andKryptview currently down both on cable side after police raids

The boxes dont come pre-flashed to the best of my knowledge so what was illegal about them? Surely they are only illegal once the user sets them up and connects them to the net.

Also mentions viewing cards as well in the article, maybe the TRING cards and other foreign provider cards that were being sold caused the issue...

i agree as i was one of those banned for asking the wrong question. and i also think that DAR+++N will now be called, DEADMAN. they have lied from the start.and let people carry on buying spiderbox knowing they had no backup to offer .RIP A+++T your time is up .

it depends what the total charges are

with the FAPL and sly being involved, then itll mostly be over 3PM footy, which is a civil matter, not a criminal one, so itll just be a fine, but, going by the rest of the article, and everything else 'happening' at the same time, there may be other things

if the service+ server was in either location raided, then there will be charges of theft, fraud, electronic theft and obtaining services dishoestly

with counterfit clothes, further charges of fraud, possibly deception

if DM was arrested, if he was even in the country when all this happened, he may not come back to face anything, then there will be things like VAT people who will get involved

i think its fair to say though, that the shop will go bust (again) and open up a few doors down (again) but hopefully, all the customers will be looked after, and given the support they need, instead of the forum trying to cover up what the rest of the internet already knows

probably, yes.

Another thing, which EVERY satellite dealer / installer knows, is that its illegal, and has been for a long time now, to sell any equipment 'pre programmed' to bypass any form of encryption. This is why when you buy cards, CAMs, receivers, anything that can be programmed or patched, its either blank, or FTA, even the £1k DM8000 arrives as a FTA receiver

on the forum, theres always numerous posts about

'i went into the shop, where they programmed everything, activated the gift, etc,etc,etc'

this carries a fine up to level 5 on the standard UK scale (£5k) and / or up to 5 years in clink, PER OFFENCE!!!!!

with trading standards being involved, they generally do a few 'test purchases' first, to gather evidence, so they would have been into the shop prior to the raid, and bought a receiver / card, and asked for it to be programmed

so as well as the civil case with the FAPL over the 3PM footy, there may also be a criminal case for selling pre programmed pirate equipment

the few points i dont understand about all this are if the shop was raided why is the server still working? ie 16e.all this about being in the far east and all the recent problems are to far fetched to me.if the police raided the the premises then all servers would have been closed down? without a dought there is major problems with darkman and his team but many have had this problem in the past and come through it.as a spiderbox owner just hope we get what we were promised if not sod it move on.

In fact I thought another forum was the principal place for support the box. When I say suport I use that in the loosest sense of the word. I've never come across a board that is so unhelpful and run by a bunch of nazis. The concept of cutomer service and debate is totally lost there. There are exceptions on there of course, but the general attitude by some of the moderators and the lead admistrator is chronically bad.

I was told this place was a lot more helpful and informative and so far I've not been disappointed.

We discuss good points and bad points of all boxes
Without fear of a ban.
All we ask is has some knowlage on whatever
Box before you slate it.

I.e Ive never owned or tested a TM
So therefore I won't comment on it.

the following is my own personal understanding of how this all worked (works?) after using monitoring software attached to a spiderbox while it was running, it may not be correct at all, but its how i 'think' it runs.

the service+ 'servers' worked by following links through 2 proxies, which basically redirected traffic via numerous addresses and servers, untill they both met up again in a central location. This location was then 'fed' keys from another uploading server. The service+ server could be anywhere on the planet, but the uploading server needs to be accessable to update cards etc. If this uploading server was in the UK, that would explain why the service+ all went down at the same time. To get a single service back up and running, slap a very simple card into a dreambox, and tell it to 'share' with the central server, which will then reshare to connected receivers

think of 'cloud' computing, one computer uploads information to a central location, all connected computers now have access to that information. If the computers are replaced with receivers, and the information is a key to clear a channel, then you only need one computer uploading a little info to run a lot of others all at once

personally, i think that the digitalb is only clearing as a further 'coverup' to whats actually happening to make it look like its all going to come back on
