the way i see it is bad news for ozmods, but good news for the scene...

why u ask.

unfortunatly ozmods didnt get the dongles out quick enough to " cash in" to what their team achieved.. and ok the prce was steep but for any major accomplishment, u deserve a bit of a return..

tho the scene will pervail.. as well the source data of the original.. will get "leaked"... (my opinion) so not to loose it..

then who will sony chase...

Weren't Ozmods just testing the hardware which was developed by someone else? AFAIK they were only the first site to demonstrate their sample.

Ozmods took loads of preorders for the hardware, ready to ship when they arrived.

Sonys lawyers send a message saying they were going to ram them with a 3 foot dongle if they do. So now they are refunding the preorder money.

the x3jailbreak has been confirmed as real, and will retail for $50-60 when they go on sale next week. im going to hold off until its around £30. which at this rate, should be pretty soon

Reminds me of my first PS2 hack, the one that was done via the usb slot with a pic chip with a single link wire going from the internal usb pins to a smt resistor. You ought to have seen the state of this creation I made. Hopefully I've still got it kicking around somewhere, if I find it I'll take a photo.

Today, Australian retailers including OzModchips have had to send those that ordered PSJailbreak some unsettling news. The news is that Sony Europe has imposed an injunction on any person selling the PSJailbreak and therefore they have no option but to issue a refund on PSJailbreak. It will take a very brave company to take on Sony! Sony has acted very quickly on the matter and a court hearing between Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and OzModchips is due on August 31st. E-mail revealed inside.

Here's a content of one of these emails:

We regret to inform you that today Sony Australia imposed an injunction against any company / person’s selling the PS Jailbreak devices, so it is with great regret that we have to inform you that we will not be buying or selling any PS Jailbreak devices. We have just issued a full refund to your card for the pre-order made.

We wish to apologize immensely for any inconvenience this may have caused, and hope that you can understand our position on this matter. Please note the refund we have issued can take approx 5-working days to show on your card.

According to the BBC website, Sony has a temporary injunction against all Australian resellers and have until 31.8.10 to get it made permanent. Also under the injunction they have seized all the stock of said resellers and are allowed to test the equipment to see how it works, including destroying it.

hmmmmm sony has moved fast but how far out has the JB got to? if its spread far enough it won't take to long to get a copy, but the problem is sony also gets to check the dongle on how it works so they can also make an update on the PS3 system for not let the dongle work even if someone still has a JB dongle

All games work on this dongle as long as you put the games to an internal HDD. Which you can now go up to 1tb but its a little pricey.

Also anyone that buys one at the current price must be made of money, Clones will be out next week for around £20 - £30. And soon after a free version will be out.

Regarding the videos always having a disc in, its to show you put say for instance call of duty in and then they show you call of duty in the dash, then they load the back up loader then run say for instance little big planet. They then go to the dash and it shows you little big planet.

I really hope people don't waste their money on this and have patience.

There already has been a clone which today was reported to be genuine its Called X3jailbreak. Gonna be priced at about 40 quid which i think is fairly reasonable.
